Artist Statement

My work is driven, more and more, by a balance (or perhaps a search for balance) of complimentary colors and geometric forms. The interplay of the colors and the forms collide, collaborate and connect in ways that allow me to find (or try to find) a natural/organic fusion of the materials. The colors often lead the way, and in others pieces, it’s form with the principal role. The pieces themselves determine which drives and which compliments, and, if all goes well, they can take turns within any given work.

The imagery that I use in my collages is most often more focused on its form rather than its content, allowing, or hopefully lending, the viewer to thinking of the connectedness of the structure, and its elements rather than “oh gee, what’s that?” type of thinking.

Flow, balance, the occasional narrative insight and a sense of intrigue guide the way, and, when all goes well, it’s a pleasure to behold.
